Starting a business is exciting, but also challenging, slow and frustrating, at least, for me, it is. From idea to reality is a lot of planning and re-planning. I love doing reiki and I want to bring my gift to help others. I think I need to find a way to do it that is outside the norm of a website. I seriously feel like going to a busy shopping mall with a big sign that says, Come for a reiki session – first 5 clients pay is just a google review! I think it would work. I think those 5 people would need to know a lot of people so that word of my business could spread. How about filling in a form with your email address and phone number and I will pick 5 to get a reiki session for a google review? Then I can offer some special offers to the remaining people that bothered to even fill in a form. Where can I do something like this? Do I need a vendors permit or can I just hope I get a bunch of people to provide me with email and phone contacts, before I get told to leave the area? And read on to see why I can’t even get a google review yet:
You know those ads that say, building a website is so easy, I got my website up in one afternoon. Who are they kidding? Well, me, for one. Because I don’t know a thing about websites, I believe I can build a website with no knowledge. Silly me. I feel like I should know better, I am an educated person, with a university degree and more than one college diploma, in various fields. Maybe if you are familiar with technology or you have someone in your circle of family or friends that can help. If I do have someone, that’s available, I don’t know it. My only tech savvy person is extremely busy now and not able to help me. I just found out that when people search for a reiki place in London, Ontario, my website does not even come up! You need a different kind of page for that, apparently. What?! Why didn’t anyone tell that a month ago when I was researching a website? Why don’t the website building apps have that as part of the program? I was able to find information about SEO picture quality and top things to know to make an effective SEO page. I’m feeling very drained and melting into my chair. I just found a highly rated website builder in my ‘hood. Can you believe they are too busy and not accepting new clients at this time?!!! Arrgggghhhhh.
I have often felt, over the past couple of years, (after something happens) that I don’t know the right questions to ask prior to starting something – and if I did know the right questions, I may not have begun. I want this to stop – but somehow it is not stopping. I keep doing things -like trying to start a business and making a website – that I do not even know what to ask to start. I just want to give reiki to help people and so I jump in and start. Then I deal with problems, not problems so much as situations/challenges, as they arise and carry on. Anyone else relate to this?
Okay – I must go now to search for a local website builder, because I want someone local so I can feel like they will understand better what I need if they live in the same area and are doing business in the same area as I am. Breathing deeply and going to close my eyes and go within now. I wish you, dear reader, more peace and ease with what ever project or new beginning you are working on than I am currently having now. I know it will work out, eventually, for me, so I am soldiering on, with God leading my way. Love and Light.
